Barbara Jacqueline Windle Dodd Fowler, age 90, of the Alleghany Health & Rehabilitation Center in Clifton Forge died Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at the Alleghany Health & Rehab.
Barbara was born January 21, 1933, in Pulaski, Virginia to the late Edwin Clyde and Sylvia Louise Matherly Windle. She was a retired service representative for the Social Security Administration but also worked for the Virginian Review newspaper and Mountain National Bank as a bank teller. She was a member of Central Advent Christian Church and loved shopping and travel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Carl Dodd and Jay Fowler, and two nephews, Timothy Clemens and Dale Windle.
She is survived by a sister, Judy Clemens and husband James of Blacksburg; a brother, James Windle of Covington; six nieces, Pam Smith and husband George, Judy Childs, Cindy Dowdy and husband Chris, Jesse Byers, Stephanie Spiller and husband Yancy, and Eileen Dziok; and two nephews, Mark Windle and wife Lorrie, and Jonathan Windle and wife Charissa.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Gene Ayers officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. Pallbearers will be Mark Windle, Jonathan Windle, George Smith, Chris Dowdy, and G. W. Smith. The family will visit with friends on Monday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
