The newly consolidated Alleghany High School has found its head football coach for this Fall’s season, current AHS football coach, Will Fields.
Fields who has been on the sidelines for over 30 years will enter next season as his 18th as a head coach.
Since taking over the program at AHS three years ago, Fields has posted an 8-20 record, including taking this past seasons Mountaineer football team to the playoffs for the first time since 2017.
The Mountaineers finished the season with a record of 6-5 and was their programs first winning season in over 10 years.Â
Overall as a head coach, Fields has a posted a record of 95-96.
Before joining AHS, at Bath County High School, Fields in 14 seasons as head coach went 67-76, including coaching the team in 2002 to the state title game.
AHS and Covington High School’s merge together as one this Fall.Â
