Hubert Kennedy, 82, of Covington, Virginia went to be with the Lord on December 24th, 2022, surrounded by his family at his home. He was the son of the late Henry Edward and Leola Kennedy of Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

He is preceded in death by a half-brother, Buster Kennedy of Ashtabula, Ohio; a half-sister, Mildred Aylor of Fort Worth, Texas; sister, Betty Jean White of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; brother, Billy Edward Kennedy of Concord, Arkansas; sister, Wilma Earline James, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; and a granddaughter, Amber Dawn Wells of Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

Surviving is his wife of 34 years, Deborah Kennedy of Covington; three siblings, a brother, Gearl Kennedy of Athens, Texas; a sister, Mary Liechti of Redland, Oklahoma; a brother, Travis Kennedy and wife Vickie of Idabel, Oklahoma; four children: a daughter, Terry Harrison and husband Rodney of Wright City, Oklahoma, a son, Doyle Kennedy and wife Bonnie of Wilson, Oklahoma, son, Danny Kennedy and Ramona of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, and daughter, Brenda Wells of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, a granddaughter, Wendy Chandler Dinger of Dequeen, Arkansas, a grandson, Daniel Kennedy and Heather of Tuttle, Oklahoma, and a granddaughter, Danielle Kennedy of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; his stepson, Joe Weikle and wife Shannon of Covington, Virginia, stepson, Rob Weikle and wife Melinda of Covington, Virginia; a granddaughter, Shania Ward and husband Travis, and granddaughter, Carlea Weikle. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews

Hubert was retired from Weyerhaeuser and retired as a millwright working for Southern Erectors and Zachary. He enjoyed cattle farming, riding horses, feeding his wildlife, working on engines, carpentry, watching westerns, and NASCAR. He was often helping others and never met a stranger telling his stories of when he was young. He was a member of McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Boiling Springs Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, 5407 Potts Creek Rd, Covington Virginia 24426.
