Sharilyn Anderson Brown, “Shari”

Sharilyn Anderson Brown, “Shari”, age 65, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, following a brief illness.  Shari is at rest in the arms of our Lord, and reunited in Heaven with her devoted husband of 31 years, David Allen Brown.

Shari was born in West Springfield, MA on November 20, 1960, to Phyllis Anderson and the late Robert F. Anderson. She moved to Virginia as a child, and graduated from Tabb High School in Yorktown in 1978. Shari eventually settled in Clifton Forge with David, where she had lived since 1993.

Shari was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and loyal friend. She worked all throughout her life, but the most important job title she ever held was “MawMaw.”  The love that she had for her children and grandchildren had no limits and flowed endlessly.  Shari’s kindness, sense of humor, and love for her family and friends left an indelible mark on everyone who was lucky enough to know her. She was nurturing, thoughtful, compassionate, and above all else, Shari was selfless — always generously willing to lend a helping hand (and homemade canned goodie!) to others.

In addition to her husband and father, Shari was preceded in death by her cherished brother, Gary Anderson; and an infant granddaughter, Moriah Brown-Holloway.

Left to cherish her memory is her mother Phyllis Anderson; sister, Jodi Ward (Michael); daughter, Melissa Guill (Tommy); son, Steven Guill (Aimee); son, D. Andrew Brown (Katie); stepson, James Moore (Erica); stepdaughter, Jennifer Brown; her grandchildren, Trevor Brown, Lois Guill, Coleman Brown, Lindsay Brown, Bennett Brown, Alice Kate Brown, Lillian Moore, Magnolia Moore, and Hunter Moore; sister-in-law, Cathy Anderson; nieces and nephews, Brittany and Christopher Ward, Kelsey McCarthy, and Erin Anderson; great nephew, Tyler Anderson; special cousins, Adrianya and Alexsys Santaniello; and many, many beloved in-laws and extended family members.

While her friends and family were not prepared for Shari to leave this earth so soon, we know that she is whole again, being back together with David for the greatest journey there is. Shari and David will be in our hearts forever.

A memorial service will be held on Friday,  June 5, 2026 at 11:00AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home with Mr. Josh Madison officiating. Following the service, and pursuant to Shari’s wishes, her body will be cremated. The family will receive friends at the Nicely Funeral Home an hour prior to the service, and suggests that memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society.
