LOW MOOR, VA (VR) — Attention: goblins, ghosts and ghouls.

The Alleghany Highlands YMCA is hosting its annual Halloween Spooktacular on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 4 until 8:30 p.m. with numerous activities on this year’s agenda. The event is free to the public.

Activities this year include a giant witch’s cauldron, floating pumpkin patch, a Halloween costume contest, 50/50 raffle, games and prizes, trunk-or-treat and a haunted house. Additionally, Cora Dance Alleghany is providing “Thriller” lessons and plans a flash mob.

“As always, the YMCA is excited to host this event,” said Michael May, YMCA health and wellness program director, personal trainer and an organizer of this year’s event. “We’ve enjoyed every minute of planning for our Spooktacular and look forward to a hauntingly good time at the YMCA.”

The Alleghany Highlands YMCA, since its inception, has provided a variety of youth and family programs and expanded membership and services into all of the Alleghany Highlands communities. For more information on the Alleghany Highlands YMCA, call 962-9622.
