The Parry McCluer Fighting Blues (7-6/7-3) came to the Cougar Den on Thursday looking for an upset victory over the Covington Cougars (16-3/8-1) and avenge their home loss back on September 13th.
However, there would be no upset at the Cougar Den as the Cougars shutdown the Fighting Blues with a straight set victory as they swept the regular season series with the Fighting Blues.
The win was the Cougars 16th on the season as they have now won three in a row following their road loss to Narrows nearly two weeks ago. The loss for the Fighting Blues ended a four-game win streak.
The Cougars were led by Lauren Bragg with had a team best eight kills, while Lexi Dressler added 10 assists along with five aces.
The Cougars will head on the road on Wednesday in a non-district meeting with North Cross.
Meanwhile, the JV Cougars improved to 17-1 on the season, 7-1 in the Pioneer District following their victory over the JV Fighting Blues.
