The Covington Cougars and Bath County Chargers recently competed on the green at Cliff View Golf Course on Wednesday in a Pioneer District match with the Eastern Montgomery Mustangs and the Narrows Green Wave.
The match was only nine holes, where the Mustangs prevailed at the match shooting a 210 as a team.
There wasn’t much separation from the schools. The Green Wave finished 14 shots behind the Mustangs as they finished with a 224 for the day.
Meanwhile, the Chargers finished the match nine back of the Green Wave to take third place. The Chargers were led by Carter Hooker who shot a team best 46 for the day.
The Cougars placed fourth shooting a 240 and finished just seven shots behind the Chargers. Brayden Herald finished with a team best 58 for the match.
The Cougars head back out onto the green tomorrow along with the Alleghany Mountaineers and Rockbridge County at Lexington Golf and Country Club.
The Chargers are also are back on the green tomorrow as well. They will play against the James River Knight at the Botetourt Golf and Swim Club.
