Clyde Lewis Boone, Sr. age 90, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022, in Aiken, S.C.
Lewis was a native of Alleghany County, but he had resided in Aiken since 1976.
He is survived by his second wife Shelby. Lewis was the son of the late Silas and
Eva Judy Boone. His sister, Alice White lives in NC. Two siblings, Howard Boone
and Louella Porterfield predeceased him. He was an Army Veteran, serving during the
Korean Conflict. After marrying Mary Julia “Jukie” Harmon, his high school sweetheart,
he worked for 34 years for Pepperidge Farm, first in PA and then in SC. Jukie passed
away in 1997. He was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed woodworking, staining glass and
refinishing furniture.
Survivors include his daughter, Judy Boone Helms (Bill) and son, Clyde “Lou” Boone, Jr. He
had two granddaughters, Jessica Helms Hall ( Jonathan ) and Monica Helms Linton (Chris).
Lewis also cherished his four great-grandchildren, Sarah and Owen Linton and Tucker and
Shepard Hall. He was interred beside Mary, at Sunset Memorial in Aiken.
