The Alleghany Highlands Arts & Crafts Center has released its schedule of classes and exhibits for the summer from July through August.

Classes:

“Alcohol Inks with Jennifer Galvin” – If you’ve experimented with alcohol inks before, but would like to learn some more techniques, this would also be a great class!

This class for students ages 14+ will be using alcohol inks to create beautiful, colorful pieces of artwork to take home. Even beginners will enjoy this workshop. Everyone will go home home with a lovely tile fit for framing, (or to use as a trivet or coaster).

“Paint Your Own Barn Quilt” – Learn to paint your own Barn Quilt with Pam Hirt. This is an image of her First Place Award from the 2021 WV State Fair.

“Gelli Monoprint & Beyond Workshop” – August 6th (10:30am-4:30pm) This printmaking is a fast easy way to learn the basics of printmaking. Wear clothes to “play dirty!” come ready to experiment. Best for ages 14+, no experience necessary. No cell phones, please.

Judith’s love of plein air (outdoor) painting has combined her love of the outdoors with her love of painting. She truly appreciates that the landscape changes each day in beautiful ways to create endless artistic inspiration.
