Cardinal News Executive Editor Dwayne Yancey is the keynote speaker at the upcoming Community Gathering at the Historic Masonic Theatre on Thursday, June 16th. The event will begin at 5:30 pm in the Theatre Underground and is open to all.

Formerly editor of The Roanoke Times opinion page and author of the book “When Hell Froze Over,” Yancey will discuss the formation and progress of Cardinal News, and share his perspective on how the Alleghany Highlands can tell its story clearly and compellingly.

Cardinal News is the online news source covering Southwest and Southside Virginia. Making its first appearance in late September 2021, Cardinal News has been written up in The Washington Post and is funded by donations from businesses, foundations, and individuals.

This is the fifth event in the Clifton Forge Community Gathering series, designed to bring citizens together to learn, ask questions, and share ideas.

Mark your calendar for June 16th and meet the journalist who’s changing our part of Virginia.
