May 14th Incident

On Saturday, May 14, 2022, the Covington Division of Police received a complaint in reference to a Temporary Detention Order transport to a state mental facility that involved a juvenile. Based from the initial complaint made, the Chief of Police initiated an internal review on Monday, May 16, 2022.

A thorough review will be completed in accordance with Department policy and the Code of Virginia.
