The Alleghany Lady Mountaineers finished with an overall record of 12-2-2 and a record of 8-0-2 in the Three Rivers District following their 5-1 home victory over the James River Knights on Thursday night.
Seniors Kinley Eggleston and Carlee Lanford, led the Lady Mounties with a pair of goals, while senior, Ashtyn Bishop, added one goal in the teams victory. The team made five of their eight shots on goal. Meanwhile, Eggleston, finished with 35 goals on the season, a new school record.
The Lady Mounties finished the game with a dozen steals. Seniors, Payton Reynolds & Anne Fu and junior Lucy Nicely, each had a three steal performance in the win.
It was another solid performance at the net for senior goalkeeper, Emma Williams, who finished with six saves. Williams, finished the regular season with 115 saves.
The Lady Mounties are the top seed in the region tournament which begins next week and the team will host at least the first round. Should they move on, they will host the second round as well.
