Seniors, Conlan Staunton (0-for-2), Brady Howard (2-for-4), Ashton Cook (1-for-3), and Levi Dressler (W, 1-for-3), were all recognized before the game started.

However, the night belonged to Luke Conner (4-for-5), who put together a four-hit, six RBI performance in the Cougars win.

The Chargers used three pitchers that could not solve Conner all game long.

While Conner was dialed in at the plate, each senior for the Cougars had a good performance. Staunton was the only senior to not collect a hit in his two official at bats (Staunton walked twice), the seniors finished 4-for-12 on the day with eight RBI’s. Each senior did score a run in the win.

              L. Dressler, who started for the Cougars, picked up the win for the Cougars as he gave up two two runs (both unearned) over three innings while giving up two hits, three walks, and struck out three. Dressler, was also one of five Cougars with two or more RBI’s as he finished with two. Fellow seniors, Howard and Cook, each had three RBI days.

The Chargers bats struggled in the loss, collecting just two hits in 19 at bats. Cooper Lowery (L, 0-for-2) suffered the loss for the Chargers. Lowery last 2.1 innings, giving up eight run (seven earned) on four hits and walked six.

The Chargers gave up 14 walks in the loss.

After even ballgame following the first inning in which both teams scored two runs, the Cougars exploded for eight runs in the third inning. Dressler and Ethan Martin (2-for-3) each had two RBI’s in the inning. The Cougars would go on to score four runs in the fourth and fifth innings to seal a victory for the team.

Next up for the Cougars is a trip to Eastern Montgomery to take on the Mustangs today at 5:00 p.m. Meanwhile, the Chargers are back on he diamond this Monday when they head on the road to face the Staunton Storm.
