Law enforcement agencies and parks and recreation departments of the

Alleghany Highlands, are excited to announce the “YOUTH DAY RODEO” that will take place on Saturday May 7, 2022 at the Jackson River Sport Complex in Covington. The event will start at 10 am and conclude at 1pm.

The Youth Day Rodeo will be a scaled back version of the annual Alleghany Highlands Bike Rodeo and Kids Day, which up until the Covid-19 pandemic, was held annually since 1997. The Youth Day Rodeo will still feature many of the same activities as the

Bike Rodeo, including bicycle give away’s, along with helmets, Wal-Mart gift cards, games, entertainment from area youth, a dunking booth, petting zoo, as well as free snacks and drinks. The youth day rodeo will be for ages 4-14 years old.

Registration forms will be given to local schools in Alleghany County, Bath County and the City of Covington. Registrations can also be done online, through the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page as well as through Bath County Parks and Recreation website. Organizers are requiring pre-registrations to participate in the event.

Donations are greatly appreciated for the Youth Day Rodeo. For more information, or to make a donation, please contact 1st Sgt. Organizers will also closely monitor the Covid-19 situation as well as take extra precautions during the Youth Day Rodeo.
