CLIFTON FORGE -A four-week screenwriting course will be offered during the spring semester by the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Non-Credit program at the Rockbridge Regional Center in Buena Vista with award-winning documentary film producer and director Douglas Smith of Rockbridge County.
“Introduction to Screenwriting” will be held on Thursdays, February 2-23, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Room 912.

“In this intensive course, each student will learn to identify and develop a compelling idea, story structure and dialogue for a short film.”
Smith will also guide each student from “brainstorm to draft” as the class investigates the craft behind the short film.
Tuition is $80, plus the cost of the accompanying book, Crafting Short Screenplays that Connect by Claudia Hunter Johnson.
