C.F. Lions Club Holds Meeting

CLIFTON FORGE - Twelve member of the Clifton Forge Lions Club met April 12 at Scott Hill for their first meeting of the month.

Lion President Dave Davis presided.

Skip McMullen led club members in singing and he was accompanied by Betty Myles on piano. Don Carter led the pledge of allegiance and the Rev. Glen Linthicum said grace. The meal was prepared by the staff at Scott Hill.

The club discussing some of its upcoming projects, which include selling brooms, mops and LOVF raffle tickets at Magic in the Mountains in May. The club also discussed several Lions Club charities it annually supports.

Noel Beach conducted the second reading of the slate of club officers for 2012-2013 year.

Glen Linthicum won the attendance drawing. Martha McMullen won the 50/50 drawing. Betty Myles won the drawing to take the club mascot, a stuffed lion named “Lion Tom,” home until the next meeting.

Club members brought several cans of food for donation to the Clifton Forge Food Pantry.

The next meeting will be Charter Night. It will be held April 26.
