Dear Editor,
The last two blood drives in November and January were very productive.
Forty-two units were secured and their life giving medicals that followed.
In November the hosts of the Grist Mill Restaurant, John and Kate Lawford, provided a great noon-time meal for all of our volunteers. Of course we were thankful for the St. Luke’s efforts.
In the cold of January, Jay Ford of Bath County Collision came to our aide by getting The Country Cafe to prepare a refreshing delight.
Those steady troopers came through the doors to assist the Red Cross Professionals from Beckley, W.Va: Betsy, Martha, Evelyn. Natalie, Glenna and Virginia. The Healing Springs Baptist Church helped with blood donors refreshment.
There is a great community effort to collecting those precious pints of life. But we have a lot of fun doing such serious work. Why don’t you join us?
Sincerely,
A. Keene Byrd
