Alleghany County Woman Sentenced After Supplying Alcohol and Vapes to Minors

ALLEGHANY COUNTY, VA (VR) – On February 23, 2026, Deputies from the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office received a tip that an employee of the Alleghany Highlands Public Schools had been purchasing alcoholic beverages and vapes for juveniles. Further investigation revealed that Raven Hamm had juveniles present at her residence where alcohol and vapes were made available to at least three juveniles on January 31, 2026.
 
During interviews Mrs. Hamm admitted to the offense and was subsequently charged with three counts of 18.2-371; Contributing to the delinquency of a minor and three counts of 4.1-306; Distributing, purchasing, or providing alcohol to a person under the age of 21 and convicted in the Alleghany Juvenile & Domestic Relations court and is serving a four-month sentence for the offenses at the Alleghany Regional Jail.
 
If you know of anyone who is contributing to the delinquency of juveniles you can report it anonymously to the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office at 540-965-1770 or to the Child Protective Services at 540-444-7100.
