CLIFTON FORGE – The Appalachian Forest Management Group and the Alleghany County Farm Bureau held their annual expo Saturday on the campus at Dabney S. Lancaster Community College.
The day began with the National Anthem sung by Lacy Meyer and a prayer and remembrance of 9-11 by Alan Dale Craft.
The show raised over $2,600 for Log-A-Load for Kids – Children’s Miracle Network through a silent auction and selling of raffle tickets on a gun and a Jolly Jump for kids.
Organizers thanked everyone who participated, donated and helped put a smile on a child’s face.
Exhibitors for the day were Forestry Mutual Insurance, Gaines & Critzer Insurance, Heatmoor Stoves, Outside Heating, PA Woodmizer, Carter Machinery, Va. Truck Center, Covington Farm and Fuel, Covington Tire and Quick Lube, Greenbrier Motors, James River Equipment, Dawn Equipment and Rentals, Lawson Products, Thomas Tire, Southern Loggers Co-Op, Dixie Gas and Oil, Boone Tractor, Diesel and Heavy Equipment Services and Lisa Deeds.
Other participants included Alleghany County Farm Bureau, AFMG, Puff’s Pit-Cooked BBQ, Alleghany High School FFA, DSLCC Forestry Club, VLA, Bonnie Zampogna and her Horse & Cart, 4-H Extension Agent, Corner Grocery Gang Band, Kountry Kickers, Lil’ Kickers, Log-A-Load for Kids, Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office, Big Al-Highway 64, Boy Scouts, Glen Wilton Fire Department and Dunlap Fire Department.
