William Louis Caldwell, 76, of 300 Kanawha Trail, Sweet Chalybeate, died early this morning, Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at his residence.
He was born April 25, 1934,in Akron, Ohio, the son of the late Walter P. and Ruby Martin Caldwell.
Bill had a love of flying and airplanes for all of his life.
He was a pilot and mechanic for Tates’s Greenbrier Airline in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va. and Greenbrier Valley Aviation in Lewisburg, W.Va., for a number of years.
He was qualified as an inspector for the Federal Avaiation Administration.
He retired in 1985 from First Property Management Company as a maintenance supervisor in Columbus, Ohio.
He was a member of Tucson Lodge No. 4 AF & AM and Tucson Sabbar Shrine Club in Tucson, Ariz.
Surviving are his wife, Cora Hardesty “Butch” Caldwell of Sweet Chalybeate; one son, Kenneth “K.C.” Caldwell and his wife, Christina, of Sweet Chalybeate; three daughters, Darlene Holben of Akron, Ohio, Terry Swanger of Columbus, Ohio, and Laura Bell and her husband, Chris, of St. Louis, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
In keeping with Mr. Caldwell’s wishes, his body has been cremated.
A funeral service will be held at a later date.
