MeadWestvaco’s Covington operations has announced position changes that were internally announced in November and December.
Angie Caldwell has accepted the position of supply chain site lead – Covington.
In this position, Caldwell is responsible for managing the Covington Supply Chain team and serving as a liaison with Richmond-based Supply Chain groups and the various Strategic Business Units served by the Covington mill.
Caldwell earned her B.S. degree in accounting from Radford University. She began her career at MWV in February 1990, in the Production, Planning, and Control department as a billing clerk.
As she advanced in the department, she held the positions of inventory coordinator, production coordinator, machine scheduler, export coordinator, and transportation supervisor. She also has held the dual role of logistics lead for the Covington SCORE project since 2007.
Grant Curry has accepted the position of fuel and fiber supply procurement forester in the Wood Department.
In this position, Curry is responsible for procuring roundwood, chips, and biomass for the Covington mill.
Curry graduated from Miami of Ohio with a B.S. degree in botany and received his M.S. degree in forestry from the University of Kentucky.
In October 1994, he accepted the position of procurement forester at Weyerhaeuser’s East Kentucky plant, and in 2009, he joined ecoPower Gen-eration, LLC, in Hazard, Ky.
Phillip Howard accepted the position of maintenance supervisor and planner.
In this position, Howard is responsible for planning maintenance jobs and managing maintenance personnel in the Recovery area.
Howard graduated from Alleghany High School in 1983 and began his first job as a welder at Southern Erector in 1984. He joined Conex Pipe System as a welder in 1994 before serving as the manager and owner of Highland Glass Company in 1995. Howard also worked for Waco as a foreman from 1989 to 2012.
Jarrod Corl accepted the position of C1 wet-end engineer.
In this position, Corl is responsible for improving wet-end operations.
Corl earned a B.S. degree in civil engineering from Virginia Tech. In February 2008, he joined MWV as a technical assistant in the Covington mill’s Technical Department. Corl was promoted to process engineer on the No. 8 Paper Machine in May 2008 and advanced to the position of shift supervisor on No. 8 Paper Machine in September 2008.
In April 2009, he moved to shift supervisor on No. 2 Paper Machine. Corl accepted the position of wrapline engineer on Nos. 1 & 2 Finishing and Loading in October 2010 before being promoted to validator on No. 1 Paper Machine in July 2011.
Nick Wilson accepted the position of validator – No.1 Paper Machine.
In this position, Wilson is responsible for coordinating maintenance activities on No. 1 Paper Machine to improve reliability and runability.
Wilson earned a B.S. degree in civil engineering from the University of Tennessee. He began his career as a research assistant at the University of Tennessee in 2003, and in 2006, he accepted the position of assistant roadmaster with CSX Transportation.
Wilson joined MWV in 2008 as validator – No. 8 Paper Machine and was promoted to shift supervisor on No. 8 Paper Machine in 2010.
In 2011, he accepted the position of pulpmill shift manager for Evergreen Packaging in Canton, N.C.
