WASHINGTON, DC (VR) – Georgetown football is set to host the Lehigh University Mountain Hawks on Saturday, September5. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. at Cooper Field in Washington, D.C.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
Last season, the Hoyas finished the year with a 6-6 record in regular-season play and a 3-4 mark in conference play, finishing fifth in the Patriot League.Senior defensive lineman Chigozie Oge-Evans was named to the 2026 Preseason All-Patriot League Football Team. Last season, the senior registered career highs with 27 total tackles, including 18 solo stops and nine assisted tackles, recorded four sacks for 26 yards lost and added one pass breakup and one forced fumble.
Georgetown bolstered its coaching staff during the offseason with the additions of Nolan Givan and Sharrif Floyd, while also welcoming back Jack McDaniels.The Hoyas named five team captains this season with Wedner Cadet, Braylon Wise, Chigozie Oge-Evans, Mosiah Talanoa and Jacob Holtschlag.Head Coach Rob Sgarlata enters his 13th season at the helm of the Hoyas.
ABOUT THE MOUNTAIN HAWKS
Last week, the Mountain Hawks defeated Holy Cross, 35-10, in its season opener in Worcester, Massachusetts.Quarterback Hayden Johnson completed 9-of-18 passes for 117 yards and a touchdown, leading the Lehigh offense through the air.Running back Luke Yoder notched 130 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries, while adding two targets through the air.
His 33-yard run marked his longest gain of the game. Nick Peltekian and Luke Denny each pulled down an interception for the Lehigh defense.Head Coach Richard Nagu leads the Mountain Hawks in his first season.
ABOUT THE MATCHUP
Georgetown and Lehigh will meet for the 30th time in program history, dating back to 1901. The Hoyas are 7-22 all-time against the Mountain Hawks. GU’s last win over Lehigh was a 17-7 victory on October 14, 2024 on the road at Goodman Stadium. The Hoyas hold a 1-10 record against Lehigh at home.
