AHS Students Recognized for Character

ALLEGHANY COUNTY, VA (VR) – From left, Alleghany Highlands School Board Vice Chair Jay Woodson, Nathan Blankenship, SRO Scott Dudding, Kymari Rice and Superintendent Kim Halterman pose Sept. 18 at Alleghany High School. Rice and Blankenship were recognized for helping a woman in need while participating in an AHS football team fundraising project at a local grocery store in August. Halterman and Woodson presented the students with duffel bags filled with snacks as a small token of appreciation for their actions, which demonstrated character, compassion, and a willingness to help others.
