VINTON, Va. (VR) – The Alleghany High School volleyball traveled to William Byrd High School Monday night and returned home with a varsity victory and a junior varsity sweep.
The Alleghany JV girls opened the night with a 25-23 win before closing out the match with a 25-13 victory.
The varsity Cougars took the first two sets, winning 25-13 and 25-10. William Byrd answered in the third set with a 25-16 win, but Alleghany closed the match in the fourth set, edging the Terriers 26-24.
Alleghany won the varsity match 3-1.
