CLIFTON FORGE, VA (VR) – Lisa Crawford Akers was named the Alleghany Highlands Christmas Mother Friday during the annual Christmas Mother Luncheon at the Masonic Theatre.

Lisa is a lifelong resident with deep roots in the Alleghany Highlands. She proudly serves as the second-generation owner of Crawford Photography, which will celebrate 50 years next year. She carries on the legacy of quality and trust established by her father, the late Jim Crawford. She serves as the photographer for most local schools and sports leagues, giving her the opportunity to build connections with many local families over the years.

Lisa is a member of Fincastle Baptist Church and attends the Highlands Campus. She serves on the board of directors for Olde Town Covington and is a member of the Virginia Professional Photographers and Professional Photographers of America.

Away from the camera, Lisa enjoys spending time with her husband, Jason, a teacher with Alleghany Highlands Public Schools. They are proud parents of two grown sons: Austin, a Virginia Tech alumnus who now resides in Raleigh, N.C., and is set to be married Sept. 25; and Sammy, a James Madison University alumnus who lives in Virginia Beach, Va., where he works and serves in the VB Fellows Program.

The Highlands Christmas Mother program serves Covington, Clifton Forge, Iron Gate and Alleghany County. The program assists hundreds of families in the Alleghany Highlands during the Christmas season.

Established in 1941, the organization is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that operates through contributions from businesses, organizations and individuals.
