COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – Alleghany hosted Fort Defiance on Thursday, with the Cougars falling 3-1 in the varsity match.
Alleghany opened the varsity match with a 25-20 win before Fort Defiance answered with a 25-22 victory in the second set. The Cougars regained the lead with a 25-20 win in the third set, but Fort Defiance closed out the match with a 25-17 win in the fourth.
The Alleghany JV squad swept Fort Defiance, winning 25-11 and 26-24.
