COVINGTON, Va. (VR) -  The Jackson River Sports Complex served as one of several host sites for the DC Fastpitch Softball Tournament this past weekend. The Tournament kicked off on Thursday evening and concluded on Sunday. Multiple states were represented, and the event had over one-hundred teams competing.

7/5/26

Lt. R. Miller & Deputy T. Plecker responded to Dry Run Rd for a dispute between neighbors.

Lt. Miller assisted a citizen with keys locked in a vehicle.

Deputy M. Colaw conducted a traffic stop on Sam Snead Hwy.

Lt. Miller & Deputy Colaw conducted a traffic stop on Main St. in Hot Springs.

Deputy Plecker assisted Hot Springs Rescue Squad on a call in the Hot Springs area.

Deputy Colaw & Deputy J. Bryan checked on a suspicious vehicle on Poor Farm Rd.

7/6/26

Deputy D. Smith assisted a motorist on Sam Snead Hwy near the Omni Hotel.

Deputy T. McRoberts checked on a 911 hang-up call on Douthat State Park Rd.

7/7/26

Deputy Smith conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Sam Snead Hwy and Main St Hot Springs.

Major J. Grimm, Capt. C. Smith, Deputy Smith and Deputy Plecker responded to Douthat State Park for a subject with mental issues. A search party was conducted to find the individual. Subject was found and transported to the hospital for an evaluation.

Major Grimm & Deputy T. O’Conner responded to the Warm Springs Pools for a domestic situation.

Deputy Colaw checked on a disabled vehicle on Mountain Valley Rd in the Millboro area.

Deputy T. Harlow conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Sam Snead Hwy & Cavendish Rd

Deputy Harlow & Deputy O’Conner responded to Mountain Valley Rd in Millboro for a motor vehicle accident.

7/8/26

Deputy McRoberts transported an inmate from Alleghany Regional Jail to Bath County Court.

 Deputy C. Altizer & Deputy Plecker transported an inmate from Alleghany Regional Jail to Bath County Court.

Deputy McRoberts & Deputy Plecker responded to a residence in Hot Springs for an activated burglar alarm.

Lt. Miller responded to the Hot Springs Firehouse for a report of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot.

Major Grimm, Lt. Miller and Deputy Plecker responded to the Bath County Courthouse for an activated burglar alarm.

Deputy Colaw responded to the Hot Springs area for a report of loud music.

7/9/26

Deputy Colaw responded to the Millboro area for an activated residential burglar alarm.

Capt. Smith & Deputy McRoberts checked on a disabled vehicle in Panthers Gap.

Major Grimm assisted Millboro Rescue Squad on a call in the Millboro area.

Deputy Colaw responded to Bath County ER for a report of a citizen bitten by a raccoon.

Deputy Colaw checked on a report of dogs barking on Coffee Pot Rd in Millboro. Dogs were not located. Coyotes were heard in the distance howling.

Deputy Colaw responded to Plecker Dr for a domestic dispute.

7/10/26

Deputy McRoberts checked on an injured deer below Valley Elementary School.

Deputy T. Harlow attempted to stop dirtbikes riding on Main St. in Hot Springs

7/11/26

Deputy O’Conner checked on an injured deer near Seven Springs Farm in Hot Springs.

Deputy O’Conner conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Mountain Valley Rd & Cowpasture River Hwy in Millboro Springs.

Deputy O’Conner spoke with a citizen about property damage at the Hot Springs Presbyterian Church.

Deputy O’Conner conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Sam Snead Hwy & French’s Hill Rd in Hot Springs.

Deputy Harlow & Deputy Altizer responded to Roseloe Ln for a report of a pitbull roaming around a neighbor’s yard.

Deputy Harlow & Deputy Altizer responded to Tinkertown Rd for a report of snakes in a yard.

Deputy Harlow & Deputy Altizer conducted a traffic stop on Sam Snead Hwy near the Piggery.

Deputy Harlow & Deputy Altizer responded to a dispute between neighbors in the Warm Springs area.

Deputy Harlow & Deputy Altizer conducted a well-being check on Muddy Run Rd.

Deputy Harlow checked on a 911 hang-up call at Bluegrass Woods in Millboro.

Deputy Smith assisted with keys locked in a vehicle in the Millboro area.

Deputy Harlow checked on a tree blocking the roadway on Lower Yard Rd in Millboro.

Deputy Harlow checked on a suspicious vehicle parked on Charger Ln.

Deputy Smith checked on a dog at a residence in the Crowdertown area of Hot Springs.

Bath County Sheriff’s Office emergency communications officers answered 274 incoming calls and made 118 outbound calls during this time period.
