COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – Following a record-setting career at Alleghany High School, 2026 graduate Kai Rowland will continue his baseball career at WVU Tech. Rowland helped lead the Cougars to postseason play during his senior season while earning Shenandoah District Player of the Year honors. He was also named First Team All-Shenandoah District, First Team Region 3C and First Team Class 3 All-State as an outfielder.
Alleghany head baseball coach Ryan Kessinger said, “Congratulations to Kai on an incredible season and his commitment to continue his baseball career at West Virginia Tech. Kai’s journey is a testament to hard work, perseverance. From overcoming adversity to becoming one of the top players in the region and state, he has represented Alleghany Baseball with pride and class. We are excited to watch him continue to compete at the next level.”
Rowland leaves Alleghany as the school’s career leader in hits, triples and runs scored. He will continue his academic and baseball career at WVU Tech.
