BOIL WATER NOTICE LIFTED FOR ALLEGHANY COUNTY

Friday, May 15, 2026, AT 1:43 P.M.

Alleghany County is pleased to report that water samples tested show our public water supply for the areas of areas of Potts Creek Road, Oneida Trail, Cherokee Trail, Apache Ct, and Comanche Trail is safe for human consumption with no concerns for contamination. The Virginia Department of Health has officially lifted the Boil Water Notice in effect.
We would like to thank the community for its patience and understanding on behalf of our water crews and the administrative team that assisted in responding to this incident. We are committed to conducting a thorough after-action review to identify any improvements that will help us avoid and prevent similar issues in the future.

If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact Alleghany County Public Works at 540-863-6650.
