COVINGTON, VA (VR) – On May 24, 2026 at 3:00 PM the Alleghany Historical Society will hold its quarterly meeting at the Discovery Center at 227 North Maple Avenue to elect new officers and showcase the VA250 Exhibit – Our Revolutionary War Heroes.  Phil Amick will be giving a presentation on the names and faces on the wall for these Alleghany Highlands heroes and the local signers of the Declaration of Independence.

The Wall of Valor at the local post offices currently showcasing some of the heroes and will honor additional heroes at a later date.  In July we will have the signers of the Declaration of Independence followed by more heroes.   An exciting year for the Wall of Valor.

Thank you to the Alleghany Historical Society, The Alleghany Highlands Genealogical Society and the City of Covington for their collaboration on this project. A great educational opportunity for the local VA250 Commission.
