LOW MOOR, Va. (VR) – The Alleghany boys tennis team avenged a 5-4 loss to Riverheads from earlier this season with a 6-3 victory, improving to 9-6 overall and 7-6 in Shenandoah District play.
The Cougars took control in singles competition, winning four of the six matches. Bubby Entsminger opened with an 8-1 victory, while Ayven Warren dropped a 4-8 decision. Riley Smith responded with an 8-3 win and Colten Jones fell in a close 6-8 match. Parker Willis earned an 8-1 victory and Quinten Harris closed singles play with an 8-0 shutout to give Alleghany momentum heading into doubles. In doubles action, Entsminger and Smith teamed up for an 8-5 win. Warren and Willis were edged 6-8, while Harris and Tallman secured the match with an 8-4 victory.
