COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – The City of Covington Treasurer’s office would like to make citizens, businesses and visitors aware that the Personal Property and Real Estate tax bills have been mailed and will be due by June 5, 2026. Payments can be made in person, by placing them in the outside drop box, mailing them to the Treasurer’s Office, or by making payments online. You can scan the QR code below to access the online portal.

We experienced a software issue with getting the Real Estate tax tickets to show the correct due date of June 5, 2026. Please contact our office if you feel you received a Real Estate tax ticket in error, you have a question about the amount due or if you no longer own the property.

Mail Payments:
City of Covington Treasurer’s Office
P.O. Box 878
Covington, VA 24426

Online Payments:
(WE WILL NOT BE TAKING PAYMENTS WITH DEBIT/CREDIT CARDS BY PHONE)

You can pay with a debit or credit card by scanning the QR code above or going to https://selfservice.covington.va.us/css.

All information to pay online is on the back of each tax ticket. It is now required for users to create an online account to process payments. The Treasurer’s Office collects tax payments, and the Commissioner of Revenue assesses taxes. If you have any questions regarding the amount of your assessment or bill, please contact Cathy Kimberlin, Commissioner of Revenue at (540)965-6352
