Mountain Momma, a 501(c)(3), supports infant and maternal health through resources, education, and community connections.

Proceeds from the Mother’s Day 5K fund diaper assistance and maternal education in the Alleghany Highlands. The organization has raised more than $3,000 for its Maternity Closet, which provides free baby and pregnancy essentials. Since 2025, it has distributed over 2,000 diapers and 3,000 ounces of formula locally.

The Maternity Closet is open Fridays from 3:30–4:30 p.m. at 511 McCormick Boulevard in Clifton Forge.

With funding from the Virginia Department of Health, Mountain Momma is launching education classes and support groups this month. Eleven classes are scheduled for 2026, all free to ensure access to perinatal education.

A postpartum mental health support group meets the third Friday of each month. A pregnancy and infancy loss group meets quarterly. More information is available on the organization’s Facebook page.
