COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – Miyah Howard handled both sides of the game, striking out 12 and collecting two triples to lead Covington Middle School past Highland, 10-0 Monday night.

Howard kept Highland quiet from the start, piling up strikeouts and not allowing a run. At the plate, she finished 2-for-3 with a pair of extra-base hits.

Covington backed the effort with production up and down the lineup. Miranda Broughman went 2-for-2 with two doubles, Alyssa Shifflett added a triple in a 1-for-2 outing, and Kelsey Broughman finished 1-for-2 with a double.
