Carol Ann Cochran Reid

Carol Ann Cochran Reid, age 75 of 5919 Longdale Furnace Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia died on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at her residence.

Carol was born on April 28, 1950, in Greenbrier County, West Virginia to the late William Taft Cochran and Nanna Belle Workman Cochran. She was a laborer for Westvaco Converting Plant in Low Moor, and also a former employee of H. O. Canfield and Sunoco. Carol was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed reading, flea marketing, and gardening.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Smith.

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd K. “Pete” Reid of Clifton Forge; two sons, Jarrett Reid (Cindy) of Eagle Rock and Travis Reid (Marie) of Suffolk; seven siblings, Wanda Robinson of Conowingo, MD, William Cochran of Abington, MD, Ralph Cochran (Janet) of Bell Air, MD, Melvin Cochran (Josephine) of Havre de Grace, MD, Marshal Cochran (Evy) of Frankford, WV, Vera Ingool (Ronnie) of  Cardiff, MD, and Gary Cochran (Debbie) of Frankford, WV; three grandchildren, Seth Reid, Hunter Reid, and Tanner Reid; a great granddaughter, Sienna Reid; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Mr. Chris Fisher officiating.  Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be Seth Reid, Hunter Reid, Tanner Reid, Chad Cochran, Jay Cochran, and Nathan Goldberg. The family will visit with friends on Friday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
