LEXINGTON, Va. (VR) – Covington Middle School girls soccer stayed in full control, taking a 7-2 win over Lylburn Downing and continuing to slay the competition with another dominant performance.
Emeri Brown set the tone early and often, piling up five goals as she repeatedly beat defenders and finished clean in front of net. Her pace and positioning kept Covington ahead from start to finish.
Ashtyn Crawford added to the attack with a goal of her own, giving the offense another consistent threat in the final third. Haley Jonas closed things out with the final goal of the night, putting the finishing touch on a strong team effort.
In goal, Marley Aragones came up with four saves, staying composed under pressure and helping Covington maintain control when Lylburn Downing pushed forward.
Covington’s balance on both ends kept the match firmly in hand, with the Cougars dictating tempo, finishing chances, and locking in another convincing result.
