Ollie Christopher “Chris” Leigh Paxton

Ollie Christopher “Chris” Leigh Paxton, age 52, of Covington, Virginia died Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke surrounded by his family.

He was born December 10, 1973 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to Karin Ann Paxton Persinger and the late Richard Leigh Paxton. Chris was an iron worker most of his life.

He is survived by his mother, Karin Ann Paxton Persinger of Franklin County; two sons, Daykota Pritt of Covington and Tristan Paxton of Richmond; a daughter, Makayla Paxton; a sister, Anna Caldwell (Chris Dudley) of Radford; a brother, Justin Paxton of Chicago; four grandchildren, Mayzleigh, Remington, Lainey, and Finley; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, including special cousins, Renee Harden and Owen Rose.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Mr. Chris Fisher officiating.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Little Big Dog Rescue, PO 283, Riner, VA 24149
