COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – Sports fans can rejoice, the Cougars will return to action on Saturday afternoon. Due to the massive snow and ice storm that hit the Alleghany Highlands last weekend, all high school games were canceled this week. The Alleghany High School athletic department announced late Wednesday night that the girls and boys basketball team will play this weekend. The girls basketball team will host Staunton, while the boys will travel to Staunton. The Virginian Review will provide live coverage on our Facebook, YouTube channels and the NFHS network.
