RADFORD — The Lady Bobcats of Radford stayed unbeaten here Thursday.
The hosts swept the six singles match in a 7-2 girls tennis win over Alleghany.
Radford improved to 5-0 in the Three Rivers District with the victory and 7-0 overall.
Vanna Hoke played the closest singles match for the Mountaineers, losing to Radford’s Gracie Blackwell at No. 4 singles, 8-6.
Alleghany won a pair of doubles matches.
Aysia Massie and Allie Landis prevailed at No. 2, while Hoke and Meghan Cash were victors at No. 3.
“We’ve had a couple of tough losses, but I think the girls are improving little by little,” said Alleghany coach Nicole Fogus. “If we can just get to the point where we close games and matches in the crucial points, I think we’ll be doing well. They are getting better at keeping points going and lessening unforced errors.”
The Mountaineers (0-3 TRD, 3-4 overall) host Parry McCluer on Monday at Clifton Middle School.
