COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – Alleghany Highlands Sheriffs Office has been made aware of several packages being stolen from mailboxes in the western side of the county.

Please report any theft and let us know what was taken. Receipts would be great.

Couple suggestions.
Do not leave mail in box overnight.
Contact post office if you can and pick it up at PO if possible.
Tracking numbers should let you know when the package Is being delivered

If you have game cameras or any other cameras set them up.

If you see them please call us and do not approach them. If they are brave enough to steal who knows what they will do. We don’t want this to get worse.

Let’s work together to catch the crooks.
