Virginia Tech Dining Services is a key partner in the university’s effort to reduce food waste. Dining currently sends about 300 tons of food waste and compostable service ware each year to an off-campus composting facility, material that could eventually be processed at the planned facility at Kentland Farm. Dear Editor,
America has thrived for years on the Godly virtues of mutual respect, honor, dignity and reverence for God among its people.
We pledge our allegiance to the flag that represents one nation, under God, indivisible, the nation that we call our home.
In these days of extreme change, though, we are missing the point that united we stand, and divided we fall. We have lost much respect for each other and reverence for God.
If this ugliness continues, we may lose a whole lot more. Our attitudes toward other people weaken us more than our differences of belief.
If Christian people don’t get together to pray, setting aside our differences of understanding, the door to God will close completely to all of us.
God said that He will hear, forgive and heal when His people humbly pray. Jesus said that when we do it together, and agree at the point of asking,
God will move! Jesus said His Father’s house is a house of prayer, which means that He gets serious about us when we really get serious about Him — together.
A Prayer Summit has been called for all Christian believers on Saturday, June 8, to assemble at the Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church chapel on Jefferson Street.
Personal, heart preparation will begin at 10 a.m., and united prayer will continue from 10:30 until noon.
All Christian are welcome to pray, either silently or aloud.
Sincerely,
Roger Bush,
Share the Prayer Coordinator – Clifton Forge
