COVINGTON, Va. (VR) — The Covington VA250 Celebration opened Thursday evening at the Jackson River Sports Complex. Crowds began lining up before gates opened at 6 p.m. and quickly filled the midway. Rides provided by Coles Amusements drew steady lines throughout the evening, while food vendors served a variety of fair favorites. The celebration continues Friday and Saturday. Gates open at 6 p.m. each day and admission is free. Ride tickets are available for purchase on site. The event concludes Saturday night with a fireworks show. Photo: Christopher Mentz, VR
