COVINGTON, Va. (VR) –  The Covington Middle School Lady Cougars left no doubt Monday night at CMS, sweeping Christiansburg twice — first in their regular matchup and again in the consolation game — to finish out the evening with a perfect record. In the opening match, the Lady Cougars came out firing. Carlee Hensley provided a serving spark that set the tone early, while Chloe Goode and Abby Forbes dominated play at the net. Covington never let up, cruising to a 25-10 win in the first set. Christiansburg pushed back in the second, but Covington had an answer for every rally. Alyssa Shifflett steadied the frame with consistent serves through the middle stretch, while Allie Crawford chipped in with timely points to keep momentum on the Cougars’ side. When the set tightened late, Emma Morgan anchored the back row with tough defense, and Covington closed it out 25-20 for the sweep.

The Lady Cougars carried that momentum straight into the consolation game. Once again, serving runs set the tone and balanced play across the rotation kept Covington in command. With steady contributions from every spot on the floor, the Lady Cougars handled Christiansburg in straight sets for their second sweep of the night.

The Lay Cougars will host Lylburn Downing on Tuesday, first serve set for 4:30
