COVINGTON, Va. (VR) — Jackson River Technical Center (JRTC) is now accepting registrations for its Early Childhood Education Preschool Program for the 2025-2026 school year.
Operated by the center’s Early Childhood Education program, the preschool has served local families for more than 35 years and continues to provide a nurturing and educational environment for young learners while affording high school students in the ECE program invaluable experience by integrating an early childhood learning environment into their daily coursework.
To be eligible, children must be 3 years old by Labor Day, fully potty trained, and not yet eligible for kindergarten. The program runs Tuesdays through Thursdays, from 8:35 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Please note that daily transportation is not provided and must be
arranged by parents or guardians.
Enrollment is limited to 12 children, and spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Tuition is set at an affordable rate of $5 per day per child which covers the cost of snacks and daily lunches prepared by the JRTC Culinary Arts program.
Parents and guardians interested in registering their child or learning more about the preschool program are encouraged to contact Jackson River Technical Center at (540) 862-1308 or reach out directly to Early Childhood Education teacher Esther Morse via email at esther.morse@ahps.k12.va.us.
