COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – On April 12th at The Discovery Center on 227 North Maple Avenue, Curtis A Smith VFW Post 1033 Auxiliary will hold its annual membership drive. The drive will run from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and refreshments will be served. As a special treat Scott Swett will be entertaining us with his piano talents. We look forward to this. There will be members of the auxiliary on hand to answer any questions you might have.

Who can join? Our organization comprises nearly half million members from diverse backgrounds who have a common connection: all are relatives of a VFW-eligible veteran. The National VFW Auxiliary has made additions to those who now qualify. We have the eligibility chart here to assist you. Eligible
veteran does not have to be a member of the VFW.

The following list (answers.com) includes all the conflicts since Vietnam that qualify for membership:

Operation Urgent Fury – Granada
Operation Just Cause – Panama
Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm – Iraq
Operation Restore Hope – Somalia
Operation in Bosnia/Kosovo
Operation Enduring Freedom – Afghanistan
Operation Iraqi Freedom – Iraqi
Operation Odyssey Dawn – Libya

Please consider being a part of our auxiliary as we strive daily to bring awareness to our group and support to all veterans through our hospital work and card ministry for veterans hospitals and local nursing homes. Help us honor your veteran and all veterans in our area.

We look forward to seeing you on April 12th.

As part of the VFW Post 1033 Auxiliary membership drive we will be giving away two annual memberships.   Come join us
