PAINT BANK — Peggy Shires Fridley, 62, of 115 Hotel Lane, in Paint Bank, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020, at the Brian Center Nursing Home in Low Moor.
Mrs. Fridley was born March 28, 1957,  in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late Roy and Frances Beverage Shires.
She was employed by Craig Botetourt Electric for 28 years.  She was a former EMT and member of the Paint Bank Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad where she had served as treasurer.  
She was a member of the Highland Chapel Christian Church.
Surviving are her husband, Chris Fridley of Paint Bank; her son and daughter-in-law, John and Kelli Fridley of Roanoke;  three grandsons, Skyler, Archer  and Reed, all of Roanoke;  two sisters, Mary Buckland and her husband Donald of Covington and Shelby Welch of Roanoke; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Feb. 21, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. J.B. Broughman officiating. Interment will be made in the Paint Bank Community Cemetery.
The family will receive their friends this evening from 6-8 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home.
The family suggests that donations in her name be made to the Paint Bank Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Paint Bank, Va. 24131.
