COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – From our family at The Virginian Review to yours, we wish you a happy Valentine’s Day and a joyous Galentine’s Day! Let us take a moment to celebrate the people in our lives who fill our hearts with love and joy. Whether you’re spending the day with a partner, a best friend or simply reflecting on all the relationships that bring warmth to your life, Valentine’s and Galentine’s Day provide the perfect opportunity to spread kindness and appreciation.

For many, Valentine’s Day is about celebrating romantic love. However, in recent years, Galentine’s Day — celebrated on Feb. 13 — has become just as significant. Originating from the popular TV show “Parks and Recreation,” Galentine’s Day honors the bond between friends, especially among women, offering a chance to recognize those friendships that uplift and support us.

Throughout our lives, we form bonds that help shape who we are and who we strive to become. I can honestly say that I am privileged to know those in my life; from my best friend and her family to the incredible people I work with, my life is filled with people who inspire and push me me to be the best version of myself.

My hope for those reading this is that you also have incredible people in your lives. If you haven’t found your group yet, keep looking, they’re out there and worth searching for regardless of whether it is one person or several. Enjoy this fun holiday with those you care about most. It doesn’t matter if it is a partner, bestie, pet or family member, cherish those who love you.

Across Virginia, communities are finding creative ways to celebrate these special days. From heartfelt homemade cards and flowers to local businesses offering sweet treats and festive promotions, Virginians are embracing the spirit of love and connection in all its forms.

Whether you’re celebrating with a romantic dinner, gathering with friends for a night of laughter, or simply sharing a heartfelt message, the Virginian Review wishes you all a day filled with love, kindness and the warmth of those who matter most.

Happy Valentine’s and Galentine’s Day to all our readers!

Thank you for being a part of our community. We at The Virginian Review appreciate your readership and wish you a wonderful Valentine’s Day and Galentine’s Day!
