LEXINGTON – The Alleghany track team recently competed at the Walt Cormack Memorial meet at the Corps Physical Training Facility in Lexington.
 
It was a big afternoon for Kiera Lowman who broke two individual program records which both were already hers for the taking. 
 
Lowman, only a junior, competed in the girls 1,000-meter run and the 1,060 where she finished in third place in each event. Lowman ran a 3:05.22 in the 1,000, while running a 5:06.51 in the 1,600.
 
On the boys’ side of the track – the boys’ team had two top 10 finishes where Brycen Griffith, a sophomore, finished seventh in the triple jump. Meanwhile Maddox Wickline also finished seventh in the 500-meter run.
