Twyla Fay Washington Bolden, age 72, of 423 A Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia died on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia.
Twyla was born on September 9, 1952, in Clifton Forge to the late Russell Everett and Ethel Mae Blakey Washington. She was a retired lab technician for Alleghany Regional Hospital/Lewis Gale Hospital-Alleghany in Low Moor with 41 years of service. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board and was a Trustee of the church. She enjoyed baking and canning, quilting and sewing, and playing pickle ball. She was an avid fan of the Washington Commanders and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Kendra Rock, and a niece, Ladonna Rock.
She is survived by her husband, James Matthew Bolden of Clifton Forge; a daughter, Shawn Norton of Richmond; two sons, Shay Bolden and wife Naomi of Roanoke and Shrell Bolden of Clifton Forge; three sisters, LaVerne Taylor of Richmond, Towana Washington of Roanoke, and Deborah Gomes of Maryland; eight grandchildren, Austin Lefler, Ariana Bolden, Jakari Nicely, Shaun Copening, Ayron Norton, Montiro Johnson, Brionna Bolden, and Gavano Bolden; seven great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Wanda Davis and Rose Trammell.
In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 1:00 PM in Main Street Baptist Church with Reverend Calvin Robinson officiating. The family will visit with friends on Saturday the 25th from 12:00 PM until the time of service at the church.
