In accordance with Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam’s mandate limiting the number of people attending a gathering due to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) concerns, the R/C Covington Movies 3 theater has changed its attendance policy.
In an announcement made on the movie theater’s Facebook page Tuesday afternoon, attendance will be limited to 10 people in each auditorium through Thursday night.
At the conclusion of the final showing tonight, the movie theater will be closed until further notice.
A statement from the movie theater staff was included in the announcement and said, “Thank you for your patience and understanding in these unprecedented times.”
Garth Newel’s Spring Fling Concerts (April 11, 18 and 25), have also been postponed.
“Our civic responsibility is to keep everyone, from our amazing performers to our endlessly supportive audience, healthy,” Jeanette Carey of Garth Newel said of the postponements.
The Alleghany Mountain Crafters Association has also cancelled its spring craft show scheduled for Saturday, March 28, at Clifton Middle School.
The event will not be rescheduled.
Plans are being made for an annual fall craft show, which is scheduled for Oct. 17 at CMS.
The Announcers’ 32nd annual Easter Eve concert has also been postponed due to the virus.
The gospel group is planning to hold a spring concert at a later date that has yet to be determined.
